Now listed in the world famous “Alastair Sawday’s – Special Places”, Hospederia Molino Charrara is a rebuilt 19th century bucket mill built on the site of a 10th century Moorish mill and was used to make flour through times of war, plague and recession. Molino de Charrara is officially listed as a site of national historic importance (equivalent to a uk listed building) and is situated on the Barranco del Infierno (Ravine of Hell) which forms the junction of the Rambla Charrara and the Rambla Benito, part of on the famous GR7 walking route across Europe. The surrounding countryside is ideal for ramblers, hikers, mountain bikers, 4×4 and off roading, climbers, bird watchers etc. You need a car in this area, there is no local bus service but we can provide you with airport transfers at extra cost from Alicante or Murcia San Javier airports and soon Murcia Corvera which will be your closest option.

We have 4 lockable bedrooms available, 2 en-suite and two with their own private bathrooms.

There is an indoor bar/dinning area accessible from the rooms which also has a TV, DVD player, board games, books, darts, music etc. The bar will usually be open from 5pm but there is no problem if you wish to start earlier. When weather permits there is also an outdoor terrace where breakfast and drinks can be enjoyed along with other seating areas around the grounds.

There is off street secure car parking available free of charge to clients in our 300 year old olive grove and a childrens play area with swings and slide etc.  We have chickens that roam freely in the car parking area and upper garden and there are also geese and turtles that live in our natural spring, unfortunately rendering the water totally useless. There is also a table tennis table and the whole outside area is covered by 4 CCTV cameras. Internet access is available to all guests from certain areas around the house however out here in the “Campo” speeds vary depending on weather conditions as we have to use internet via radio

Other than breakfast we do not provide meals however we will usually be able to provide bar snacks such as pizza or toasties if required. You are welcome to bring your own food to eat and we have a microwave in the guest area along with two BBQ’s for guest use, we will of course be happy to provide wood and/or charcoal for you to use.  Please note that we are very remote from a town and although there is a local bar a few km away it has quirky opening times as does the nearest “restaurant” also about 5km away. There are no local shops of any kind so it is not possible to just “pop out” for anything you require, everything has to be planned in advance.

We have occasional themed days where cookery, bread making and even beer tasting courses for example are provided by local experts however these are subject to an extra charge on top of room rates.

Seasonally we have fresh home baked bread, fresh eggs from our own chickens and locally produced wine all of  which is available upon request to have with your own meals.

Bottled local beers are always available and guest beers and home brew appear from time to time along with local wines.
