Now listed in the world famous "Alastair Sawday's - Special Places" for the 2012 season, Hospederia Molino Charrara is a rebuilt 19th century bucket mill built on the footprint of a 10th century Moorish mill and was used to make flour through times of war, plague and recession. It was never used to make olive oil as some guide books would have you believe although it is set in its own 300 year old olive grove. Molino de Charrara is now officially listed as a site of "National Historic Importance" on the edge of a National Park and is situated on the Barranco del Infierno (Ravine of Hell) which forms the junction of the Rambla Charrara and the Rambla Benito, part of the famous GR7 walking route across Europe. The surrounding area is ideal for ramblers, hikers, mountain bikers, climbers, bird watchers etc although the summer months in this desert like area are extremely hot so more gentle activities are recommended from June onwards.

We have 4 lockable rooms available 2 of which are en-suite and two with their own private bathrooms.
The indoor bar/dinning area is accessible from all rooms and has TV, DVD player, board games, books, darts, music etc. The honesty bar is open from 5pm when you return from your day out but you can of course start earlier if you wish. When weather permits - and it usually does - there is an outdoor terrace where breakfast and drinks can be enjoyed along with many other seating areas around the grounds.
Car parking is free of charge, just park under a 300 year old olive
tree for a little shade.
We have chickens that roam freely in the car parking area and there are also geese and turtles in our natural spring, unfortunately rendering the water totally useless.
WiFi internet access is available to all guests from certain areas around the house however out here in the "Campo" speeds vary depending on weather conditions as we have to use internet via radio
because Telefonica do not extend their telephone service beyond the nearest town
to here which is about 20 minutes drive away.
We have occasional themed days where cookery, bread making and even beer tasting courses for example are provided by local experts however these are subject to an extra charge on top of room rates.
