This was Nicky’s experiment first off this morning. Not the best time for alcohol but it started the day off great :-)

Grab a nice large mango, peel it and then cut up as much of the flesh as you can as close to the stone as possible so as not to miss anything. Throw out the peel and put all the flesh into a liquidiser with lots of crushed ice and a good chunk of fresh mint to your taste. Liquidise the lot and add a really good slug of white rum and then top up to about half a litre using soda water.

The final result is quite a thick drink and really refreshing :-)

I totally forgot to keep you all up to date on my home brew attempts and so far you have missed a very nice Elderflower Mead, a not too bad Alcoholic Ginger Beer, a not too good Alcoholic Ginger Beer, Peach Wine which needs racking next week and a 40 pint batch of Bitter from a kit given to me about 18 months ago which actually tastes great.

Today I am going shopping for 6kg of sugar and a plastic bin with a lid. Why? Tune in next time to find out but on the list is more Elderflower Mead, more Ginger Beer and a few liquors :-) The almonds are picked, the figs are about ready and the pomegranates won’t be much longer.

Watch this space!!

Team Molino placed this cache in May 2011.

Our aim is not to make our caches too difficult but we would like you to have to work a little for your reward so don’t expect much information.

Happy Caching!!

This is a nano cache holding just the logbook, you will need a pencil.

Enjoy the views of Blanca on the drive up and over the other side. The only reason to get out of the car is to sign the logbook.

View over Blanca where you can find more caches.

The board shows what you can see from here, but unfortunately not the caches :-)

Remember – Leave nothing but footprints – Take nothing but photo’s and memories.

Team Molino placed this cache on Easter Day 2011 whilst visiting friends on the street where we lived long before we discovered Geocaching.

Our aim is not to make our caches too difficult but we would like you to have to work a little for your reward so don’t expect much information.

Happy Caching!!

Our plan was to do a few local caches whilst here this weekend but there are so few in this beautiful place we used to call “Home” we decided to create a new one. Our friends here will help to maintain it if necessary but we are often here ourselves also.

This is a small cache holding the logbook, a pencil and just a few smaller items along with a Geocoin which we picked up on this trip to celebrate a certain “Special” Birthday of one of our team members.

From the cache site you get a good view down the rugged Costa Brava coast.

Remember – Leave nothing but footprints – Take nothing but photo’s and memories.

This is a park by the side of the River Segura in Blanca that has now become overgrown and could do with a little TLC.

There is a lot of cane growing around here, so cane you find the cache?

A couple of weeks ago we set out to try to find the new Murcia International Airport at Corvera to see how it is coming along. We headed down the A30 and turned off cross-country towards Corvera, which turned out to be a mistake as had we carried on a little further we’d have seen sign-posts, oh well. Not too sure of our direction we pulled over into a lay by to consult the GPS & Google only to have a Guarda Civil car drive past, turn round, come back & start to give us an inquisition. What are we doing? Why are we here? Where are we from? Bloody hell this is a parking lay by on the side of a main road and we are in a car – I thought that was what they are for!! Anyway making the most of the situation I thought it good to ask about directions to the new airport. Airport? Que? Airport…. Donde es? Airport? No!! Documents por favor. So out came every piece of paper we have about the car and ourselves and they returned to their car to radio through and do their best to find some reason to take things further. Luckily we are old hands at dealing with traffic police (if you can call it lucky) so everything was in order and they were stuck and would have to pick on some other person. However after returning to our car to bring our documents they had suddenly learned a little English and also the exact location & directions to the airport so off we went and took a couple of photos of the building site as you can see below.

Pointing into the new Murcia Corvera Airport.

As you can see it is coming along, there is the tower and terminal and a great expanse of flat areas for the runway and also car parks. We will return again to see how it is going but somehow I think the aim of passenger flights this year is a poco optimistic.

Team Molino placed this “Drive and Go” cache in March 2011.

Our aim is not to make our caches too difficult but this one is just way too easy and should be done in five minutes.

Happy Caching!!

This is a medium sized cache placed on the famous GR7 walking
route and contains a logbook, Ikea pencil and a sharpener which are
not for trade. The other items inside when the cache was first
placed can be seen in the photo below. We intend to use this cache
as our GC and TB store, feel free to remove one before we take it
on a journey.

This mill stone is one of four remaining from the old bucket mill
which has produced flour here for the local people through times of
war, famine and plague. Another stone is in the garden of a nearby
cave house below the old “Era” which is the threshing area for the
wheat and a further two stones are still within the grounds of the
mill. There has been a mill on this site since the Moors first
built one in the 10th century but the current building is 19th
century and was fully restored over a ten year period at the end of
the 20th century and finally became a family home and officially
registered Bed & Breakfast in the 21st century. Your entry to
this cache is via a very short track between two houses so be
careful if the owners are home as they will have no idea what you
are doing.

There are steps down to the Rambla Benito behind the stone but be
careful as they are not too steady, and once down in the Rambla you
can walk all the way to Abaran in a little over an hour.

The gift wrapped item can be taken and kept by the first person to find the cache.

The picture below shows a view up the Rambla Benito from the cache site.

Remember – Leave nothing but footprints – Take nothing but photo’s and memories.

Dan is a part-time member of “Team Molino” and is doing something useful (if not a little silly!!)

Welcome to Dan’s Red Nose Day Giving Page

He doing something funny for money – please sponsor him!

Dan’s Story
Hi,
Those that know me well, know how much I like having my hair and those that know me really well know that I once said I’d shave it all off for a good cause.
After a couple of years dodging the issue, it seems it’s finally time for this to happen and after some discussion it has been decided I will boldly go bald for Red Nose Day.
Other people have climbed mountains, crossed deserts and done some insane things in order to benefit this cause, so the very least I could do is have my hair cut.

So dig deep, and give generously and think fondly of my cold head in this wonderful English weather!

You can just see the aerials at our Los Almeces cache above.

The are two lookout towers up here.
