A Cache By:
This is a nano cache holding just the logbook, you will need a pencil.
Enjoy the views of Blanca on the drive up and over the other side. The only reason to get out of the car is to sign the logbook.
View over Blanca where you can find more caches.

The board shows what you can see from here, but unfortunately not the caches

Remember – Leave nothing but footprints – Take nothing but photo’s and memories.

Our plan was to do a few local caches whilst here this weekend but there are so few in this beautiful place we used to call “Home” we decided to create a new one. Our friends here will help to maintain it if necessary but we are often here ourselves also.
This is a small cache holding the logbook, a pencil and just a few smaller items along with a Geocoin which we picked up on this trip to celebrate a certain “Special” Birthday of one of our team members.

From the cache site you get a good view down the rugged Costa Brava coast.

Remember – Leave nothing but footprints – Take nothing but photo’s and memories.

This is a small cache holding just the logbook, you will need a pencil.
This is a park by the side of the River Segura in Blanca that has now become overgrown and could do with a little TLC.

There is a lot of cane growing around here, so cane you find the cache?

Remember – Leave nothing but footprints – Take nothing but photo’s and memories.
Our aim is not to make our caches too difficult but this one is just way too easy and should be done in five minutes.
Happy Caching!!

This is a medium sized cache placed on the famous GR7 walking
route and contains a logbook, Ikea pencil and a sharpener which are
not for trade. The other items inside when the cache was first
placed can be seen in the photo below. We intend to use this cache
as our GC and TB store, feel free to remove one before we take it
on a journey.
This mill stone is one of four remaining from the old bucket mill
which has produced flour here for the local people through times of
war, famine and plague. Another stone is in the garden of a nearby
cave house below the old “Era” which is the threshing area for the
wheat and a further two stones are still within the grounds of the
mill. There has been a mill on this site since the Moors first
built one in the 10th century but the current building is 19th
century and was fully restored over a ten year period at the end of
the 20th century and finally became a family home and officially
registered Bed & Breakfast in the 21st century. Your entry to
this cache is via a very short track between two houses so be
careful if the owners are home as they will have no idea what you
are doing.
There are steps down to the Rambla Benito behind the stone but be
careful as they are not too steady, and once down in the Rambla you
can walk all the way to Abaran in a little over an hour.

The gift wrapped item can be taken and kept by the first person to find the cache.

The picture below shows a view up the Rambla Benito from the cache site.

Remember – Leave nothing but footprints – Take nothing but photo’s and memories.

We will certainly do our best to get to this event. This is the area of Germany where Nicky grew up and is a great caching area. It’s a long way off yet so plenty of time to work around to it.

You are looking for one of these, but which?

This is a very small cache holding just the logbook, you will need a pencil.
From up here in the Sierra de Ricote you can see over Blanca, Abaran and out to Cieza.

You can just see the aerials at our Los Almeces cache above.

The are two lookout towers up here.

Remember – Leave nothing but footprints – Take nothing but photo’s and memories.

The view over the Campo de Tiro.

The cache overlooks the Campo de Tiro but is not near it although you do have to pass by it, so take care if it is being used. Head towards the Sanctuary and follow the signs for the Campo de Tiro. If you want a long trek then park near the Campo and make your way up the track but you can drive up there and park, then walk to the cache. Don’t attempt to drive up the track in the wet or if it has been raining. There are a couple of short, rough spots but you can easily make it in a car, we used our Mondeo. Enjoy the views all round looking towards the Sierra de Callosa, San Bartolome, the Vega Baja, Algorfa, La Mata and Torrevieja. You also get to see beautiful sunsets from up here. After findind the cache you can extend your walk round to the geodesic point and get even more views. The track is well used by mountain bikers if you prefer to bike it – over from Algorfa then drop down the steep track. The best approach to the cache is from Benejuzar, turning by the Vetanario center. Wear sensible footwear and remember to take water. Picnic tables are to be found near the sanctuary and cafes/bars in Benejuzar. There is a pencil in cache but it is always wise to take your own pen/pencil just in case.

Remember – Leave nothing but footprints – Take nothing but photo’s and memories.

We were going to place this cache a few months ago actually in the tree but it is a good job we did not, they have put a new fence around it so the cache is close by.
Is this tree really 1400 years old?

View of the Olivera Gorda.

Some of our other caches, which ones will you find?

Just a short walk from a parking area this cache is at the Mirador de Ricote which I admit does not have fantastic views but it does look over Ricote at least
From here you can walk a circle to take in a couple more of our caches, it should take a couple of hours in total and give you some great views of the Valley & Ricote.

This cache is very small & you will need a pencil.
